Elena lay there, propped up high, breathing in the faint lingering scent of eucalyptus that clung to her pajamas. She still had a slight stuffiness—it was, after all, pregnancy rhinitis—but the panic was gone. The pressure in her forehead had receded to a dull throb, manageable and fading.
After delivery, Elena thought grimly, staring at the ceiling. That was potentially eight weeks away. Right now, she felt like she was drowning in thin air.
