Apply heat to the section of the pipe you suspect is frozen.
Before assuming the pipe is frozen, check if only one fixture is affected. If the kitchen sink works but the toilet is backed up, the issue is localized. If every drain in the house is backed up, you may have a main sewer line freeze or a septic tank issue. frozen drain pipes
