Ear After Cold — Clogged

The common cold, caused by viruses such as rhinoviruses, coronaviruses, and adenoviruses, triggers an inflammatory response in the nasal passages and sinuses. This inflammation can spread to the Eustachian tube, causing it to swell and produce excess mucus. As a result, the tube becomes clogged, and the air pressure in the ear is not properly regulated.
