For two decades, the "Enterprise Portal" served as the central hub for organizational information. It was the single pane of glass through which employees, partners, and customers accessed data. However, the traditional portal model was built on monolithic architectures. These systems were heavy, expensive to maintain, and difficult to update.

The industry is currently undergoing a paradigm shift. The "Portaligt" (Port-Light) concept represents the modernization of this gateway. It strips away the heavy business logic traditionally embedded within the portal server, moving it to the backend or edge, and focuses the portal entirely on secure, lightweight aggregation. This paper defines the architectural standards of Portaligt and argues for its necessity in the modern digital ecosystem. portaligt
