: Wait for the tool to finish—this can take up to 20 minutes.
Do not rely on the default uninstaller. Download the official McAfee Consumer Product Removal (MCPR) tool immediately. Run it after the standard uninstall to scrub the leftovers. And before you do any of this – download all your backed-up files first , because the uninstall process has been known to break access to the cloud account.
It’s not the worst software to remove (looking at you, Norton), but it’s far from user-friendly.
