The movie revolves around a team of scientists, led by Dr. Ellen Krause (Lucy Liu), who embark on an expedition to study the ecosystem of the Amazon jungle. While collecting samples, they stumble upon a species of deadly, genetically mutated spiders that have been exposed to a toxic gas. The spiders, which are enormous and highly aggressive, begin to attack the team, forcing them to fight for survival.
