As schools and workplaces increasingly deploy content filters, users turn to “unblocked” access methods (proxies, VPNs, cached sites). This paper analyzes the technical and sociological drivers behind unblocked access, using a mixed-methods survey of 200 students and IT administrators. Results show that 68% of students have attempted to bypass filters, primarily for gaming and social media, while administrators cite security and productivity concerns.
