SLED 11 famously shipped with compositing enabled by default (on supported GPUs). The “desktop cube” (spinning your workspace on a 3D cube), wobbly windows, and window transparency were not just eye candy—they provided real productivity via the exposé-like window picker and zoom features. On a business desktop, this helped SLED 11 look more advanced than Windows 7’s Aero.
