L-acoustics V-dosc Site

The most critical component of the V-DOSC was the DOSC (Diffuseur d'Ondes Sonores Cylindriques) waveguide. Traditional high-frequency drivers utilize exponential horns that produce spherical wavefronts. The DOSC waveguide utilized a complex internal geometry to transform the spherical wave from the compression driver into a cylindrical isophase wavefront. This allowed the high frequencies to couple correctly with the drivers above and below in the array, extending the line source behavior into the high-frequency spectrum—something previous line arrays failed to achieve effectively.

While V-DOSC has since been succeeded by newer L-Acoustics models (such as the K1, K2, and ARCS series) that offer greater power-to-weight ratios and wider frequency response, the fundamental physics of the V-DOSC remain the industry standard. It proved that sound reinforcement could be treated as a rigorous scientific discipline rather than an art of approximation. l-acoustics v-dosc
