Ethically, the argument that SACDs are “abandoned” or too expensive does not justify piracy. Many SACD titles are still sold new, and limiting access to high-resolution music does not give users the right to bypass payment. Furthermore, torrent networks lack quality control; files labeled as SACD rips may be upsampled lossy audio or contain malware.
