One of the greatest successes of Season 1 is the world-building. The movie felt like a linear ascent; the show allows the viewer to live in the cars. We see the "Drawings"—the cramped, windowless carriages where the working class resides—and the "Nightcar," a brothel that serves as a confessional and sanctuary.
