: Many of these proxies use libraries like Node.js Unblocker or Rammerhead to rewrite remote webpages on the fly. This allows a student to browse restricted sites like YouTube or Discord within a window that appears to be a "math helper" to the network's firewall. math proxy

In mathematics and statistics, a is a measurable substitute for a value that cannot be directly observed. April 14, 2026 : Many of these proxies

In both educational and computational settings, direct mathematical manipulation is not always feasible, efficient, or pedagogically optimal. This paper formalizes the concept of a math proxy — any entity (symbolic, algorithmic, or human-driven) that approximates, substitutes, or facilitates mathematical reasoning. We categorize math proxies into three types: estimation proxies (e.g., rounding, Monte Carlo methods), computational proxies (e.g., CAS, neural solvers), and pedagogical proxies (e.g., manipulatives, heuristic rules). Examples and limitations are discussed, along with implications for math education and AI-assisted reasoning.
