Abdul Qadir Gilani was born in 470 AH (approximately 1077 CE) in the coastal region of , located south of the Caspian Sea in modern-day Iran. He possessed a noble prophetic lineage. On his paternal side, he descended directly from Imam Hassan ibn Ali, and on his maternal side, from Imam Hussain ibn Ali. This dual lineage earned him the honorific title Al-Hasani wal-Husseini .
