Pin Batch File To Taskbar Windows 11

The batch file shortcut will now be pinned to the Taskbar.

Windows 11 does allow you to pin a batch file shortcut to the Start Menu (right-click the shortcut → Pin to Start). From there, you can often drag it to the taskbar (though this also fails in recent updates). The Start Menu is a decent fallback. pin batch file to taskbar windows 11

Use a free tool like Bat To Exe Converter or iexpress (built into Windows). Convert your .bat to a .exe file. An .exe can be pinned directly to the taskbar without any tricks. This is the cleanest solution. The batch file shortcut will now be pinned to the Taskbar

When you click the taskbar icon, it will open a separate Command Prompt window and potentially a second blank icon on the taskbar (depending on your "Combine taskbar buttons" settings). It does not behave like a clean, single-click app. The Start Menu is a decent fallback
