Kyle corners Joel’s vapid, younger assistant and pitches himself for the lead role in the Soul Gauntlet movie. The assistant says Joel is actually casting right now, in the living room. Kyle struts over, strikes a "heroic" pose, and delivers a line from the game: "I wield the Gauntlet... of Souls!" Joel stares at him for five full seconds, then turns to his business partner and says, "This is why we use motion capture." Kyle is dismissed without even a laugh — just cold, corporate pity.
Henry is refilling ice when Joel approaches him. Joel recognizes Henry from a failed acting class they both took years ago. Henry awkwardly admits he still "acts sometimes" (he doesn't). Joel, in a moment of casual cruelty, says: "You know, I used to look at you in that class and think, 'That guy is gonna be huge.' Then one day I realized — you're not talented.
