Little Giants on Tubi: A Nostalgic Touchdown for ’90s Kids and New Fans Alike
Long before The Mighty Ducks gave us a female star, Shawna Waldron delivered a tough, vulnerable, and absolutely believable performance as a girl who just wants to play. Her “Annexation of Puerto Rico” play is still referenced in sports culture today. She’s not a sidekick or a love interest — she’s the team’s heart and MVP. little giants tubi

The plot is classic David vs. Goliath. Danny O’Shea (Rick Moranis) is the well-meaning, less-athletic younger brother of Kevin (Ed O’Neill), a former high school football hero turned hyper-competitive pee-wee coach. When Kevin cuts Danny’s daughter Becky (Shawna Waldron) from his team, the “Cowboys,” for being a girl, Danny rallies a ragtag group of misfits — including his bookish nephew (Devon Sawa) and a giant kid who can’t tie his shoes — to form their own team: the “Little Giants.” What follows is a season of slapstick pratfalls, heartfelt lessons, and an inevitable climactic showdown. Rick Moranis is the soul of this movie. He plays Danny not as a fool, but as a dad trying to prove that kindness isn’t weakness. Ed O’Neill, fresh off Married… with Children , is perfectly cast as the scowling, win-at-all-costs Kevin, but the script gives him a redemption arc that actually feels earned. Even small roles from John Madden (as himself) and a young Sam Horrigan as the bully Spike add flavor. ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4
